Lincoln Riley Allegedly Has a Coach Recruiting for USC While Still Employed by Oklahoma
When I saw this tweet late last night, I became giddy. I didn't even know what it was about at that point, but you could just tell that it was going to be something good if the Oklahoma compliance department was getting in the mud on Twitter. And it's pretty good.
So here's the deal: Oklahoma assistant Roy Manning was out on the road recruiting on Tuesday, as it's currently a period when coaches can have in-home visits with recruits. Obviously, Manning was an assistant under Riley at OU and remains employed by the Sooners, as Riley has not fully put together his staff at USC and Oklahoma doesn't have its next head coach yet.
But it appears Manning may not just be recruiting for Oklahoma at the moment.

In an article about five-star DB Domani Jackson, 247Sports quotes Jackson as mentioning Manning as one of the coaches seemingly recruiting him to USC.
247Sports — USC has made up ground since the Trojans hired Lincoln Riley away from Oklahoma. We talked to him just a week ago and he said it was mainly Bama and Michigan and he saw himself leaving home to play his college ball.
“Lincoln Riley has been blowing my phone up and that’s been impressive,” Jackson said. “With all that he has going on, for him him to take all this time to reach out to me shows me a lot. He wants to come in for a home visit but this week is pretty crazy so that will probably happen next week.
“He said he wants send in coach (Alex) Grinch (DC) first and then he’ll come in later. I’ve heard from coach Grinch too and also Roy Manning, who was the DB coach at OU. I’ve been texting back and forth with coach Manning and looking forward to meeting those guys in person.”
But it's not just that Manning is allegedly recruiting for the Trojans while still employed by OU. It seems like he may still be recruiting for Oklahoma, too!
So Manning is making phone calls on behalf of USC on his way to the office in Norman and then hopping in the car with Bob Stoops to go do in-homes for Oklahoma. If this is true, somebody is going to be in MAJOR trouble. I don't recall ever hearing about a scenario like this one playing out before.
I'm all in on Oklahoma going scorched Earth on Riley after he left them out to dry. Hell hath no fury like a Sooner scorned. Go get his ass, y'all.
