LSU Players and Recruits Are Now Following Lincoln Riley on Twitter

Well that’s certainly intriguing. Lincoln Riley is now followed by several LSU recruits as well as basketball coach Will Wade and new baseball coach Jay Johnson.

Johnson’s follow seems particularly relevant, as the others could have presumably been from a while ago for a number of reasons, but Johnson is entering his first year in Baton Rouge.

Does this *actually* mean anything? I don’t know, maybe not. But in today’s landscape and with the way things work in 2021, Twitter follows aren’t nothing. It’s something you at least have to pay attention to.

If LSU truly is able to lure Riley away from Oklahoma, that would open up yet another blue blood job in what is already the most notable coaching carousels we’ve seen in some time. Is it easier to win a national title at LSU than Oklahoma once OU enters the SEC? It looks like we’ll find out Riley’s answer to that question soon enough.

And if Oklahoma finds itself in need of a new coach, where does it look? Does OU call Josh Heupel, who led the Sooners to an undefeated season and national championship at quarterback in 2000 and has impressed in his first season as Tennessee’s head coach? Does Billy Napier already have another job by that point?

This offseason could get crazy. Have FlightAware bookmarked.
