Matthew McConoughey Is DOMINATING Polls Against Candidates Actually Running For Governor

In the new poll, respondents asked about a hypothetical matchup between Abbott and McConaughey preferred the actor, 43 percent to 35 percent

Asked about a race between McConaughey and O'Rourke, who recently announced his intention to run next year, McConaughey prevailed 49 percent to 27 percent.

I don't know why, but I LOVE this story. I've blogged it before, but it is becoming more and more real. 

Is McConoughey actually going to run? Nobody knows.

If he runs will he be a democrat or republican?

Where does he stand on the issues important to Texans?

Do you want him in charge?

I think Texas is on to something. Everyone who actually runs for office seems to be an incompetent ego maniac. This guy Beto O'Rourke can't stop running for various offices even though he just keeps losing every time. Texas should just start drafting people instead of electing them. Oh you're not sure if you want to be Governor? Too bad, man, you're in. You've been selected. You're running the State. Maybe that is the only way to get normal, competent, honest people into office. Anyone who submits their name to the ballot is automatically eliminated. Then the people just look at blind resumes and/or wikipedia pages to find the right person for the job. I don't know if McConoughey is that guy. He probably isn't. Maybe Texans should look up the guy who ran Dr Pepper for like 25 years. He'd probably be a good choice. Drafting is the new thing though. Just have to force people into office against their will for the good of the people. That way we don't get any Betos in there by mistake.
