There's Nothing Better Than The Post-Goal Line Brawl Celly

One of my favorite moments in Philadelphia Flyers history was back in February of the 2011-12 season. Not only did that season kick ass because Jaromir Jagr was on the Flyers roster. But mere seconds after Scott Hartnell put this puck in the back of the net against Toronto, he was exchanging some knuckle sandwiches with Dion Phaneuf.

The post-goal fight is always epic. It's always greasy. It's what hockey is all about.

And last night we got to witness a beauty of a post-goal tilt between the Habs and Flames. Just a couple of good ol' Canadian teams going at it. That little rat Brendan Gallagher getting to the dirty areas and putting that one home. A dirtball cheapshot from Gudbranson. Big team guy Tyler Toffoli coming in to the defense of the little bastard. And the rest is history.

Best part of the tilt is Gallagher wheeling around with Backlund's helmet during the tilt. Poor linesman holding on for dear life here as Gally is carrying around a CCM Tacks 910 as weaponry.

Unfortunately the Habs were on the powerplay so it's not like they had the best lineup out there for a brawl. But seemed like a pretty fair 5v4 tilly to me, all things considered. Again, there's nothing better than a brawl immediately after a fight. Especially if the home team just scored. Because the whole barn is already on their feet, the emotions are already high, and then once the fists start flying then everybody is ready for blood. Old time hockey through and through.

Speaking of old time hockey, the NHL was full of some great ones last night. Happy Fight Friday.
