Tough Break For Connor McDavid. John Tortorella Says He Needs To Completely Change His Game To Win A Cup

Well there you have it. Don't expect to see McJesus have his name engraved on the Cup anytime soon.

It's like I always say--anytime you have the most talented hockey player on planet Earth, you need to make him completely change the way he plays. When the whole world zigs, Torts zags. And that's what makes him the GOAT.

Scoring goals? Who the fuck needs them. How many blocked shots does McDavid have? That's what I thought, bitch. Insane speed that is seemingly 2 gears higher than anybody else out on the ice? Lotta good that's gonna do you in a little thing called the Stanley Cup Playoffs. You want to win in the 'yoffs, you gotta finish your checks. Get pucks on net. Gotta win the little battles, gotta win the first 5 minutes, gotta just stick to our game and get greasy in the corners. Torts hockey wins Cups. McDavid hockey merely wins 3 Art Ross Trophies, 3 Ted Lindsay Awards, and 2 Hart Trophies.

Sidenote: Little conspiracy theory here but I'm almost certain this means that John Tortorella is getting another NHL job by the end of the season. Only explanation here. He knows he's going to be coaching another team at some point this year and he wants to sabotage the Oilers by getting McDavid to change his game. Diabolical.
