Pedro Feliciano Passed Away In His Sleep Last Night At The Age Of 45

Mannnnnnnn fuck this. There are certain tweets about the passing of someone that hit your soul out of the blue and finding out Pedro Feliciano passed away in his sleep at the age of 45 was most certainly one of them for me.

Thousands of baseball players pass in and out of your life as a fan, but select guys just stick out more than others in your heart and Pedro Feliciano was one of them for me. Maybe it was because he was one of the rare Mets bullpen arms that was almost always reliable, that memorable sidearm motion seemed like hell for lefties to hit every time, or that he showed up pretty much every other night for years including leading Major League Baseball in games pitched in 2008, 2009, AND 2010 to the point that he got the nickname Perpetual Pedro.

I guess inviting Pedro Feliciano into my house on TV like pretty much every other night in high leverage situations from April-September is why he felt like a member of the family during his playing days and why seeing he passed away while on vacation with his family hit so hard. RIP.
