Wake Forest QB Sam Hartman Targeted the Ref With a Direct Headshot

Not how you want to start a noon kick if you're that ref. He didn't even have time to get into the flow of the game before he took a direct shot to the face.

I don't think this was intentional — that poor ref didn't even have time to make enough mistakes to warrant this if it was — but more quarterbacks should try this if things are going sideways with the officials. There's no way to really prove it and while it might not help you get any more calls to go your way, at least you get a piece of vengeance.

The ref's reaction wasn't exactly elite, though. Not that I'm happy he took one in the face, but he didn't do himself any favors.
