Bill Gates Is Getting Shit On For Using His 350 Foot Super-Yacht To Shop For Farms To Save The Environment

Source - Bill Gates has been scouting for farmland to help save the environment — aboard one of the world’s worst-polluting forms of transportation.

On the eve of his appearance at the United Nations climate summit in Scotland, the billionaire philanthropist commandeered two lavish superyachts for a luxury trip along the Turkish coastline that saw him celebrating his birthday and shopping for “hundreds of acres of farmland,” a source told The Post. “He wants to create a large sustainable farm in Turkey” for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the $50 billion charity he runs with his former wife.

But Gates set off on his environmental crusade aboard a superyacht, which environmentalists say are among the world’s worst ecological offenders. According to Turkish news reports, he sailed the azure waters of the Aegean on LANA, a 354-foot yacht described as “one of the most luxurious superyachts in the world.” The boat includes eight staterooms, a golf range, a cinema room, a pool and massage rooms. It accommodates 12 guests and 31 crew members, and rents for more than $2 million a week, according to a Monaco-based yacht rental service.

Alright listen, I understand the irony. I understand it doesn't "look good" when you're leading the charge against climate change aboard your 350-foot super yacht with twelve of your closest friends fresh off a sixty-sixth birthday party in which you flew in fifty guests via helicopter...but hasn't he earned it? Hasn't Bill done enough good to get a pass on this one? His foundation has given away $54 BILLON to various causes of the past twenty years. He's (nearly) eradicated polio for Christ's sake. World hunger, clean water, plumbing, access to education - these are all things that have been categorically changed due specifically to the work of The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. If he wants to putt around the Aegean Sea on a super yacht, let him. There's no need to rich shame. Besides, you're ruining it for the 30 body guards who got their own super yacht for the weekend because there wasn't enough room on his (even though it's the size of a football field).

LANA was followed by the Wayfinder — a 223-foot luxury “supply boat” that is believed to be owned by the billionaire and was used to house his 30 bodyguards for the weeklong trip, according to Turkish news reports.

A representative for Gates did not reply to requests for comment.

The point I'm trying to make is that we should leave old Billy alone. He's had a rough year with the divorce and he deserves some R&R. That and anyone who gets mad is just jealous. If you had the money you'd be doing the exact same thing. Now here's my favorite Bill Gates video of all time. Enjoy...
