'The Challenge Lies, Spies And Allies' Week 13 Recap And Power Rankings - Same Old Mistakes For Nelson And Cory

*Spoilers Obviously Ahead. Again, this is your warning*

We're going to keep these blogs going. If we can't have No Quitters (RIPIP, send all complaints on Twitter) we're going to have the blog damnit. The Challenge is too damn good of a show to not be talked about. Each Thursday I'll drop one of these recaps and power rankings so we all can argue about America's fifth sport. I'll try to convince the other guys to do something from time to time because something tells me this season is going on for months.

We got some old school fucking

Tori and Emanuel getting caught hooking up in the bathroom was perfect. Why? Because it reminds us of the glory days of the show. There were always two spots we saw hookups. Top bunks and the bathroom. Good for Emanuel. Dude is crushing it as a rookie, on his second chick already on the show. Dude is going to be around for a long time.

I appreciate Amanda bringing full chaos

Amanda getting moved to the Ruby team last episode meant that team was going to be awful and chaotic. Amanda brought all of that. I appreciate the hell of it. She basically threw the daily challenge because they dared her to. Told her not to do anything, so she didn't do anything. Then during the club part she threw a fit about a team meeting. Love it. She's basically Odell Beckham right now. It makes it even better that you have Cory and Nelson yelling at her. They are as bad as anyone in the political part of the game. More on that later though.

Josh made a smart move … shocking, I know

Josh teaming up with Logan is a smart move. He's kept the Emerald team together. He has allies now with Devin and Emanuel thanks to being on Emerald. So he made a choice. He became friends with Logan and decided to push votes to Cory. That breaks up Cory and Nelson making Nelson a lone target. He also got rid of a decent contestant while keeping the Emerald team together. That's exactly how you play the game.

Not shockingly Cory fucked up the political game and doesn't understand

So during deliberation we hear everyone making their case for not going in. CT wants to stick around. Kinda weird they made it seem like CT is scared of the Lair when really he is just buying time. Kyle was begging. Logan said he didn't give a shit. And then we get to Cory and Nelson. Mostly Cory though who gets voted in and then goes off the deep end. He's pissed they didn't vote in Logan because of the Vet Alliance. Dude, that's been dead for weeks. Then he talks about how if he wins he's going to join Emerald, sabotage the team and then eliminate them. Dude, what? This is why you've never won. Cory STINKS at the political game. He doesn't understand game theory while being able to compete. He could realize he could join the best team and just win and be the agency. That would be the smart play to get to the Final.

It all didn't matter because Logan whipped Cory's ass

Good elimination event. Basically tug of war but way more strategy. Logan completely whipped Cory's ass. It wasn't even close. Cory was tired - after saying he was going to just tire Logan out. Cory was slipping and dropping the rope. Logan took advantage every time. He realized how to counter attack and struck when Cory wasn't paying attention. Naturally we get Cory and Nelson acting like someone got murdered after the elimination. I swear Nelson is convinced he's interviewing for a movie role every single time he's on camera. Also just another season where Cory underachieved. He's gotta figure out how to play the game and separate a bit from Fessy/Nelson as his only true allies.

Logan makes the switch

Here's where it gets tough. Logan should have said fuck it and joined Emerald. You need to break them up at some point. But he made a promise he wouldn't and stuck with it. Smartly he dips out of Ruby and joins Sapphire sending Kyle to Ruby. That Sapphire team is pretty decent now with CT, Logan, Emy and Ashley. Ruby meanwhile stays the easy target with Kyle, Nelson, Big T and Amanda. Yikes. What's smart here though is Logan is basically protecting himself. Nelson and Kyle will likely call each other in. Kyle probably more than Nelson. I could see Nelson wanting to redeem Cory's loss and go after Logan, but you have some protection there. Buys you a couple weeks and hope that you win the Agency on a guy's elimination.
