Pray For The Committee: Luke Fickell Went Off And Cracked Insults About CFP's Chairman Gary Barta After UC Was Ranked 6th

Listen, I'm ALL for coaches cracking insults, especially to the committee here. The college football playoff is not a true playoff. It's a TV invitational which typically has the 4 same teams. Yeah, sure, most of the time they  get it right with the best teams there because it's easy to put Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson in and then just rotate Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Georgia for the 4th spot. BUT 4 teams for a playoff of 120+ teams makes no sense. You can't even get all the power 5 conference champs in. You obviously can't get a group 5 team in and you simply can't trust a group of people to rank teams properly. 

So when this happened yesterday, it just reminded the world about how dumb it all is.

Putting UC at six basically means they have absolutely zero chance to get into the playoff unless chaos happens and they go undefeated. Yeah, yeah, they should have looked better against some teams. You can make that argument for basically anyone. The fact that people are actually against expanding the college football playoff to 8 or 12 teams is asinine. The regular season still matters, you get the auto bid for 5 power conference champs, the top group 5 team and then 6 wild cards or 2 wild cards. That doesn't diminish the regular season, which is why college football is awesome. Every week matters. That's still the case in expansion. Just had to get that out there. 

Now I'm in a pickle though. See Luke Fickell throwing insults makes me want to bump up UC in my rankings. Howevah, Gary Barta is a 3-time national champ in football. Kinda hurts the insult when it's a guy who did play in college at North Dakota State and won a national champ 3 times. And if that's not enough, Game Day is going to UC this week. Can't wait to see this sort of stuff. 

Pretty simple solution here. Expand the playoff to 8 or 12. People will always bitch about the first team out, just look at the NCAA Tournament, but at least 8 or 12 gives you conference champs and a team like UC in.
