Our battles are really the schools we go against, that have academic prowess like the University of Washington -- Notre Dame, Stanford, USC. We go with a lot of battles, toe to toe, all the way to the end, with those schools. So I think that’s made up and pumped up in [the media’s] world.

Hey Jimmy Lake. Welcome to the Thunder Dome, bitch. I have no dog in this fight. I just love seeing a President fire back. Sure he could have been a bit meaner, but flat out saying he respects Washington's former coach Chris Petersen and not Jimmy Lake is gold. Give me all of this. This is what college sports is about. This is why I always have, always will love college sports.

Look at the backstory here. Jimmy Lake trying say Washington doesn't recruit against Oregon because they battle 'more academically prowess teams. More teams like them.' I don't know man. Maybe recruit better football players? Just a hunch. Maybe that's how you get better than 4-4 and lose to Montana. I don't see Oregon losing to Montana. I see Oregon going on the road and beating Ohio State. I see Oregon in the playoff picture and debate with the rankings being announced tonight.

But see I want more of this. I don't care that Jimmy Lake took a shot at Washington being a better academic school than Oregon. A weird chirp, but they aren't winning on the football field, so why not? College sports is all about being delusional. Fans hang on to anything they can to rip jokes on rivals. It doesn't matter the year, it doesn't matter who is playing. If they can fire something off, they are going to. I want coaches, players and even Presidents to help them out. None of this play nice bullshit. No talk about how great Chris Petersen is in a comment and purposely leave out Jimmy Lake.
