Blues Goalie Jordan Binnington Found His Inner Ron Hextall Again Last Night

Thanks to Nazem Kadri's hit on Justin Faulk in last year's playoffs, the Blues and Avs rivalry got quickly dialed up to an 11 in the first playoff series between the teams in 20 years. Kadri instantly become public enemy #1 in yet another NHL city. And the Blues would seek vengeance for the hit that ended Faulk's season and landed Kadri an eight-game suspension.

40 seconds into their season, Brayden Schenn and Kadri went at it...

Then 47 seconds into last night's game in St. Louis, Justin Faulk came for his pound of flesh...

That was hardly it...

That little skirmish led to this hilarious sequence of events...

Civilians calling games with profanity? Sounds like a great idea.

First Jordan Binnington decides to play an impromptu game of catch with his Colorado counterpart Darcy Kuemper, who himself seems game for whatever Binner is down for. Then he takes a playful swing of his twig in Kadri's direction (it doesn't appear to come within 3-4 feet of the Avalanche forward) before skating away and order is restored.

Binnington was given a 10-minute misconduct for his troubles, which was served by Robert "Ya Know" Bortuzzo. Curiously, Kadri was also given a 10.

Cue Joan Jett's "Bad Reputation".

Whatever the refs said or did must've worked because there was nary a penalty in the third. Yeah, I fucked up the Avs goalie despite how much time I spend on the 'Starting Goalies' tab on DailyFaceoff.com. Put some 'tussin on it.

Check out this budding Hextall/Binnington...
