The Astros' Bats Woke Up to Even the World Series at One Win Apiece Headed to Atlanta

Game 2 of the 2021 World Series followed almost the exact same script as Game 1, just with the teams reversed. The Astros took Game 2 by a score of 7-2 over the Braves to even the series at 1-1 as it shifts to Atlanta for the next three contests.

Much like Atlanta used five runs in the first three innings to propel it to a 6-2 victory in Game 1, Houston scored one run in the first inning and four in the second to take a commanding 5-1 lead it would never relinquish.

Look, obviously this is not what we wanted. The Braves had Max Fried on the mound and he just wasn't sharp. It happens.

But the goal was always a split in Houston. Going up 2-0 for a second consecutive series would have been amazing, but this is the World Series against another awesome baseball team. You'll take one win in Houston seven days a week and twice on Sunday. Now you have the next three in your home ballpark, which you haven't lost in yet this Postseason.

Ian Anderson is on the bump in Game 3 and I have no doubt in my mind he's going to get this thing back on track. Just take care of business in what is sure to be a raucous Truist Park. The Braves are still the better team in this series.
