Kevin Huerter's Quote on His $65 Million Contract Extension Is the Best Thing You'll Read Today

The Atlanta Hawks locked up one of the pieces of their young core this week when they signed Kevin Huerter to a four-year, $65 million extension.

As professional sports contracts go, $65 million flies relatively under the radar. Most people don't get surprised by anything under $30 million a year anymore. But when Huerter spoke about his new contract, he delivered a quote that was really refreshing to hear from somebody earning that kind of money.

How could you not love this guy? He goes out, does his job and still keeps things in perspective when he's rewarded with more money than 99 percent of people will ever see, even if it's not an insane amount by NBA standards. That's my shooting guard.

Now the Hawks have Huerter, Trae Young, John Collins and Clint Capela all locked up for at least the next four seasons together. For the first time in quite a few years, this should be one of the most fun teams in the NBA to watch from the first game on. I'm looking forward to it.
