Eddie Rosario Went Into the Clubhouse to Get the Bat He Used to Hit for the Cycle Last Month Before His Walk-Off Hit in Game 2

How could you not love this Braves team? Missing Ronald Acuña Jr., Mike Soroka and Marcell Ozuna, Atlanta still finds itself with a 2-0 lead in the NLCS thanks to an unlikely cast of heroes.

Sunday's hero was Eddie Rosario, who was acquired from Cleveland at the trade deadline and has been superb in Atlanta since he came off the injured list. Before he delivered the Braves' second Postseason walk-off in as many days, though, he went into the clubhouse and grabbed his bat he used to hit for the cycle on September 19 in San Francisco.

Rosario said he was keeping the bat as a trophy, but it quite clearly has some sort of magic in it. He got the four hits in San Francisco while seeing just five pitches and then rifled the first pitch he saw from Kenley Jansen into center field for the walk-off single in Game 2 of the NLCS. When you've gotten five hits — let alone hits that important — on six pitches with any bat, you need to be using it until it dies a hero.

Rosario said the bat was in the clubhouse because he was keeping it as a trophy, but it's pretty obvious at this point he has to lead off tonight with that piece of lumber. Simply no other option.

Let's get these last two wins in Los Angeles and send this bat to the World Series.
