BREAKING: Hosting Sex Parties (With Condoms) For Your Underage Kids Is Not Okay, "Cool Moms" Everywhere Go Into Hiding
A California mom hosted depraved secret parties where she handed teens booze and condoms — and even watched while they engaged in sex acts, prosecutors said.
Shannon O’Connor watched and laughed in a bedroom while a drunk teenage boy mounted and groped a girl who was a friend of the woman’s then-15-year-old son, according to court documents.
The 47-year-old mom kept the parties secret from other parents and even her husband while 14- and 15-year-old kids got so drunk, they “would vomit, be unable to stand, and fall unconscious,” prosecutors said.
“It took a lot of brave children to come forward and to untangle this deeply disturbing case,” DA Jeff Rosen said in a statement.
O’Connor, also known as Shannon Bruga, was booked in Idaho, where she now lives. Prosecutors plan to extradite her to the Golden State to face a laundry list of 39 criminal counts.
“She stated if anyone was told she could go to jail,” the statement of facts said. One 14-year-old girl who spoke about the parties was threatened with retaliation that would include people spreading rumors about her, according to the allegations against her.
Mannnnn oh man. Tough day for all the "cool moms" out there - "I'd rather you do it in the house" sounds a lot different when your mom would "rather" encourage these VERY underage kids to take drunken, sexual advantage of other VERY underage kids.
I never had a "cool mom." My mom is cool, but she wasn't the mom who would turn a blind eye to us stealing Smirnoff Watermelon off the bar and pouring it into water bottles. She was ALWAYS playing the "I could get arrested" card, which yes, she could have, but at the time I personally felt she could've loosened the reigns a little bit on me. Reading this, I'm thankful my mom wasn't that kind of person. This #CoolMom probably thought, "these kids are gonna do it anyway! I might as well be the one who shows them how to handle themselves in the real world!" To quote Jeff D Lowe - INCORRECT. Nope! This is not how you do it, girlie! You should NOT supply full underage child house parties with alcohol, you should NOT let them run around with alcohol poisoning, encouraging sex! This also gives me a real creep vibe from the mom (apart from the literal abuse) - why would you ever want to watch your kid/ANY kid assault someone? Or do ANYTHING sexual in nature? Even if these kids were older, and the "hook up" was consensual, why the fuck is the mom there? What kind of fucked up do you have to be to get a bunch of children drunk and watch them violate each other, and themselves?
Shoutout to the kids in this situation. When you're 14/15, all you want to do is think about what it would be like to fuck and party. I'm sure they all went into this thinking wow, we are the coolest kids in school! We drink AND grope! It takes some seriously fucked up things to pull these kids out of their "cool kid" funk, and have them realizing what they're doing is wrong. Especially when an adult, someone you would typically trust to show you the difference between right and wrong, is encouraging the bad behavior. Lock her ass up!
