Elijah Wood Said The Ugly Orc In Lord of the Rings Was Based On Harvey Weinstein

“They were talking to Sean Astin about his first memory of getting to New Zealand for the first time,” Wood told Shephard and his cohost, Monica Padman. “He had seen these orc masks. And one of the orc masks — and I remember this vividly — was designed to look like Harvey Weinstein as a sort of a f*ck you.”

“I think it’s okay to talk about this now,” Wood continued after sharing the story. “He’s f*cking incarcerated.”

Jackson and Weinstein had simmering tension as the franchise was initially to be developed under Weinstein at Miramax. Things soured when the producer wouldn’t let Jackson make three movies based on Tolkien’s books. Lord of the Rings eventually went to New Line Cinema which approved his vision for three films.

I'll be honest, the resemblance is certainty there between the shithead rapist and Gothmog, the Lieutenant of Morgul. I think most of you that love LOTR will be familiar with who they are talking about. But just in case:

They didn't actually specify which orc design they were talking about, but it has become increasingly obvious that Gothmog was the mask. Honestly, I think it is a great retribution as well. You wana fuck with my movie?  How about I design the ugliest of my ugly creatures in my 11-Oscar winning, billion-dollar grossing movie after your ugly face? That is as good of a FUCK YOU as I can imagine.

Also, this is normally a story that I would assume is fake. But so many documented stories have come out about people and their non-harassment related run ins with this asshole that I'll believe about anything:

- He tried to shave 25 minutes off of Bong Joon Ho's 'Snowpiercer'. He specifically tried to cut the infamous scene where the guards gut a fish in front of the prisoners. Bong lied to Weinstein, saying that his father was a fisherman and the scene was important to him. Weinstein aired his cut down version for test audiences, it scored terribly and Bong's cut scored great. A pissy Weinstein decided Bong could have his cut, but he demoted the movie's production and didn't give it a nationwide release.

- Weinstein kept pressuring James Gandolfini to do Letterman to promote 'Killing Them Softly'. According to Steve Schirripa “And [Weinstein] got fucking nasty with Jim. And Jim said, ‘I will beat the fuck out of Harvey Weinstein! He fucking calls me again, I will beat the fuck out of him! For the money he paid me, I’m not fucking doing it!’ Swear to God. And this is before all the Harvey Weinstein shit when he was still king shit.”

- One of Miyazaki's producers sent Weinstein a samurai sword. This was a threat, letting him know that he was not to touch the cut of 'Princess Mononoke'.

- He was sued by the filmmakers behind "Hoodwinked". In the lawsuit, they claimed that Weinstein stopped his screening of the movie so that he could get on his hands and knees and eat M&Ms that he has spilled off the floor.
