Terrifying Moment When A Jockey Gets Bucked Off His Horse And Goes Head-First Into The Railing

Source - Jockey Oisin Murphy -- a 2-time British flat racing champion -- had a terrifying moment before a race on Thursday ... when his horse went out of control and threw him head-first into a railing.

The scary incident went down at the Salisbury racecourse in the UK ... when Murphy was getting a 2-year-old horse, Oasis Gift, ready for his debut in a seven-furlong event.

In the footage, it appears Oasis gets spooked and starts to lose control -- bucking and dashing across the parade ring with Murphy saddled on.

The Video:

This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but fuck horses. I know my boss owns a few and they're big and gorgeous and intelligent and blah, blah, blah, but they're also terrifying twelve-hundred pound beasts. Not only that, they're unpredictable which is what makes them so scary. I'm not anti-horse by any stretch of the imagination, they just make me uneasy. A couple years back I was lucky enough to be in the paddock at Saratoga and the whole time I couldn't help but think how fucked I would be if one of the horses went nuts. It doesn't take much either- all you have to do is raise your hands too fast and they'll get spooked.

Regardless, thank god the jockey is okay. Here's what the announcers had to say after the incident...

Later that day Murphy confirmed on twitter that he received a few stitches and his doing fine…

His twitter is actually pretty good if you wanna check it out. He posts GoPro footage of him racing which is wild. Anyway, all's well that ends well. Fingers crossed both horse and jockey can get back out there and get a W.
