'The Challenge: Spies, Lies And Allies' Week 8 Recap And Power Rankings: The Vet Alliance Is Officially Over

*Spoilers Obviously Ahead. Again, this is your warning*

We're going to keep these blogs going. If we can't have No Quitters (RIPIP, send all complaints on Twitter) we're going to have the blog damnit. The Challenge is too damn good of a show to not be talked about. Each Thursday I'll drop one of these recaps and power rankings so we all can argue about America's fifth sport. I'll try to convince the other guys to do something from time to time because something tells me this season is going on for months.

All the new people in the show have no idea the goal is to win

Goddamnit, I'm sick of writing something similar here. The fact is everyone new on the show has no idea the goal is to win. You have Berna crying her eyes out because Emy stole CT from her. Well, yeah, he's CT. You should want a better partner. It's the game. You have rookies complaining about having to go into the lair all the time. Yeah, the Vets had an alliance and the rookie group was too damn dumb to realize how to break it up. Overall we have some characters in this rookie class but for the love of God start getting people that understand the concept of the game.

CT will still kick your ass in puzzles

A little twist on the standard swimming/water challenges we get. I didn't hate it. Essentially they had to ride that device CT has there, collect things, solve a puzzle. I know we think of CT as Choo Choo, but the man is dominant at puzzles. Not a surprise that he won. Emy didn't win, CT won. But here's my problem with a season that's actually been decent. They keep showing all the daily challenges in different heats. Why? It's impossible to know who won or have an idea who won. You don't know times. There's also the fact that heats could be wildly skewed talent wise. Just put them all together and let's figure it out. It'd be a cleaner look and perhaps we wouldn't have to waste so much of an episode just on a daily challenge that people zone out during anyways.

Bettina, sup?

Shocking that Amber is fighting again. Amber is Brooks Koepka

We get to deliberation and shocking that Amber B is fighting again. Now, I've said I'll back Amber B here, especially the more people turn on her. She won a title with CT and she looked fucking awesome doing it last year. But give up the whole I was sent it once by Fessy who stabbed me in the back. It was a dick move, but we're talking 5 episodes ago and Fessy is gone. This time she's fighting with Berna and honestly Berna stinks. CT left her for a reason. But Amber B. is basically Brooks Koepka. Won a major, shows up and pisses people off, has a little asshole in each.

Hughie's literal ass cost him

MTV had a field day with this last night. You had Hughie screaming about his ass being stuck. You had the other contestants laughing. In the end it literally cost them. Well that and the fact him and Berna had no clue how to handle an elimination together. Berna was trying to drag him up the pole, they were yelling. It was a disaster through and through.

The vet alliance is done

So during deliberation Priscilla got pissed that Ashley warned the rookies that if they split up a vet pair, everyone else would go after them. It made no sense for Ashley to blurt that out and try to intimidate the few rookies left. So what happens? Priscilla and Jeremiah win the elimination and Priscilla makes the first move. She takes Josh to split up a vet-vet pair (with Ashley) and encourages Jeremiah to do the same. He follows it up and takes Tori. The vet alliance is over. There are no more rookie-rookie pairs for them to throw in. Honestly it now feels like the show is truly starting. The vets did what they were supposed to up to this point. Now it's about positioning yourself with your alliance within the vets and winning challenges.

Emy still stinks

I'm just putting it out there until CT gets a likable partner.
