Bryson's Having A Hell Of A Week - Wins Over America At The Ryder Cup, Immediately Goes And Advances At The Long Drive Championship

Fuck it, I'm back all in on Bryson. He won me over. Maybe it's the fact that he's just wearing a regular ass hat or that he embraced the Ryder Cup as much as anyone. I'm back in on Bryson. Then again it could be the fact that people, you know, forgot he was a top-6 golfer in the world and just likes to make fun of him because of the weird shit he does. He bounced back from an absolute stinker at last Ryder Cup to go 2-0-1 this year. He even showed he can have fun, which may have been the most shocking part.

I honestly love that he's out there in Nevada at the Long Drive World Championships. These aren't 'normal' golfers. They aren't household names. It's like when Kevin Durant showed up at Rucker Park. Dudes who dominated Rucker Park, legends in NYC and then Durant goes and does this. 

Oh and needless to say he hit the shit out of the ball. (h/t ESPN)

Bryson DeChambeau finished tied for second place in his group after the first day of the Professional Long Drivers Association World Championships in Mesquite, Nevada, averaging 406.2 yards on his five longest tee shots.

DeChambeau hit drives of 412, 408, 407, 403 and 401 yards on Tuesday to advance to the next round. The field on Wednesday will be narrowed from 64 to 32, with the top eight from each group advancing to Thursday, then down to the final 16 for Friday's final round.

And yeah don't get me wrong all I can think about is Happy Gilmore here. Come step on up and watch the uh golf ball whacker guy. Except Bryson is one of the best golfers in the world, Happy just wasn't aware he could beat Shooter at the time. 

Have yourself a fall, Bryson. You won me over. I can't help it. I want him to go and win this thing. That said, I can't imagine having this sort of distance. It's a cheat code. I said it on the day of the Ryder Cup, but when he put the ball on the green on 1 against Sergio, what are you supposed to do? I'm just going back to the bar if I'm playing a match and the first drive the dude has a 15 foot putt for eagle.
