Ryder Cup Recap: Americans SMASH Europe 19 to 9

What a fucking asskicking this was. My buddy Reags couldn't have described it better. From beginning to end, the Americans kicked the European's teeth in.

They should have. They're the better team. They're always the better team. Golf (and especially match play) is a fickle game where anything can happen. And for whatever reason, the Ryder Cup has been an elusive trophy for the Americans more times than not in the past 2 decades.

The boys took care of business this week. Never lost a session and won 4 of the 5 sessions in dominating fashion. 19-9 is the most lopsided Ryder Cup win in modern history. And it's just the start. Most of these guys are going to be around for a long time. There were 6 rookies on this team. Morikawa, Schauffele, Cantlay, Scheffler, Berger, and English all contributed to the W, and most of them you can expect to be on Ryder Cup teams for the next decade plus. Dustin Johnson was the oldest and most experienced member of this team, playing in his 5th Ryder Cup. Jordan Spieth is 28 and he was the 2nd most experienced guy. 28! Meanwhile, the Europeans had MULTIPLE guys whose Ryder Cup experience was in the double digits. Westwood, Sergio, and Poulter are on their way out. Rose and Stenson played their way off the team the past 2 years, too. What I'm trying to say is that what the Americans have is here to stay, and the Europeans find themselves licking their wounds after an asskicking without much hope to look forward to in the future. You can expect Rahm, Rory, and Hovland in the next handful of Ryder Cups and who else?

It really is a new era here for American golf as it relates to the Ryder Cup. This really may be the Ryder Cup version of the Dream Team, and there's no reason why this shouldn't be the case in Italy in two years. I think some people will want to see these guys win on European soil before they truly crown em, but I'm ready to do it now. I can't wait for 2023.

I could sit here and recap the golf itself today, but I'm not sure anymore really needs to be said. The Americans outclassed the Europeans all weekend in every way. Hats off to Steve Stricker and hats off to the way these guys delivered the goods. Bravo.

So good to have been rooting for the right side of this one. GET YOUR T-SHIRTS!!!!!!
