Clemson Is Out of College Football Playoff Contention on September 25

For the first time since 2014, Clemson has lost two games in the regular season — and it's only Week 4. The Tigers' offense has looked nothing short of horrific so far in 2021 and it appears it has already cost Clemson a shot at getting into the College Football Playoff.

Clemson went into NC State and needed the Wolfpack to miss a game-winning field goal attempt as time expired in regulation to even get to overtime, where it had its 36-game winning streak against unranked opponents snapped.

For all the talk about DJ Uiagalelei coming into 2021, he has just not looked like a guy ready to lead a team to a national championship. The Tigers' defense has been stout for the most part, but it appears it won't be enough to achieve the goals they had for themselves coming into the season. It would take a season of almost unparalleled insanity for Clemson to make it back to the Playoff.

Congrats to NC State, who found a way to pull off the massive upset even after losing all the momentum when the game went into overtime. Quarterback Devin Leary was awesome on Saturday, going 32-44 for 238 yards and four touchdowns.

And yes, this is a situation in which you should storm the field. Go crazy tonight, Raleigh.
