Jack Eichel Is No Longer The Buffalo Sabres Captain. That'll Really Show Him!

Some of it clearly has to do with the fact that the Sabres absolutely fucking suck and Jack is tired of wasting away some prime years of his career on a team that can't even sniff the playoffs.
But most of it has to do with Eichel's herniated disc and how to treat it. The Sabres and their doctors are sold on a fusion surgery, Jack and his camp want to get an artificial disc replacement. Now you'd figure the Buffalo Sabres, a team that has basically nothing but guys making $750K and a drastically overpaid Jeff Skinner on their roster, would do everything in their power to make their star player feel comfortable. You'd figure a team desperate for a star to stay on the roster would take the player and his own health into consideration. But no. The Sabres are riding with their doctors over Eichel.
So Eichel is already sick and tired of playing for a dog shit Sabres team. The organization won't let him get the surgery that he wants to repair his neck. And their next course of action that they think will magically end this stalemate is to strip the 'C' off of Eichel's sweater?
Oh yeah guys. I'm sure you reallllllly showed him on that one. Now Eichel really knows who is in charge here. Maybe throw him on the 4th line for a few games, too, just to really hammer the point home.
I just don't see how the Buffalo Sabres think they're winning this one. I don't see how Kevyn Adams thinks any of this makes any sense. Unless they were intentionally trying to screw Jack Eichel by waiting this long before the season, it makes no sense whatsoever that they wouldn't find a deal for him earlier in the summer. Also, if this takes too long to come to a conclusion and Eichel isn't available for the Olympics? Well then I think we have to officially declare war on the Buffalo Sabres for being an enemy of the state.
