A Little Over A Month Ago Chris Bassitt Got Hit In The Face With A Comebacker, Thursday He's Starting For The Athletics

Pretty incredible that the last time we saw Chris Bassitt he was being carted off the field with blood dripping off his face. He got hit right in the face on August 18th vs the White Sox and is making his return to the mound this Thursday for Oakland vs the Mariners. That's incredible. It's a remarkable comeback considering he had facial fractures from the 100 MPH comebacker, and just over a month later he's back on the bump trying to will the Athletics into a Wild Card spot. No one knew if he would have vision damage, a concussion, or anything more serious, but luckily he ONLY had facial fractures and after throwing a few bullpens is good to go. He was fantastic for the A's before the injury, if he can get over the mental hurdles of being on the mound again theres no reason to believe he can't replicate his numbers from earlier this season. Nothing else to say except how awesome it is that he's good to go and actually wants to pitch again. I couldn't imagine going through what he did and now a little over a month later he's itching to go again, good for him. He seems ready to go, cracking jokes while talking to reporters and everything, how can you not want this guy to absolutely shove on Thursday?
