The STEP BY STEP Theme Is The Most Underrated Song Of The 20th Century

I'm not trying to spoil anything from this week's draft but we get into TV Theme Songs and it's nothing short of magnificent. Feits put on a clinic as a Snake Draft guest from the preparation to analysis to instant reactions. If this draft was a tee shot then I'd call it a smooth butter cut into a slightly downhill doghill right with the wind at our back. The tee's in our pocket before the ball lands and we got 106 to the pin. Go ahead and feel good about yourself big fella. That's called Nutting It.

At some point in the show, Feits and I share an unspoken agreement that there's a big time song that will likely go undrafted because the quality of the show doesn't hold up against the competition. We danced on it for a minute and locked brains on the song. There's some light discourse in miscellaneous. Ultimately though it didn't make the top 25 and for that we owe no apologies. Just an opportunity to circle back and give it some appropriate respect as the 26th man of the draft. I don't carry the same power as Red Ed but that won't stop me from unilaterally declaring Step By Step as one of the most electric intros in the history of Modern Television.

Step by step. Day by da-DAY BY DAY.

It's the background DAY BY DAY with the elevated vocals coming in over the top that does it for me. Passionate background vocals that emphasize the Soprano interlaced with the Alto will always get my cherries moving into production phase. Mix in the amusement park and roller coaster and having this guy as your father figure:

That's a great situation but I actually think know it gets better and without being too horny, that's all on Suzanne Somers LORD HAVE MERCY

Are we talking about the OG Milf?

I think so. At least in my time she was, although hand up I was very interested in her daughters in the moment. Who can blame me. Karen and Al were from another planet in the mid 90's.

It was basically the Brad Bunch with an emphasis on all the guys being idiots and all the girls being attractive. I don't think that's much different than most sitcoms with a laugh track but this one was different. This belonged to the younger crowd. It was a critical piece of programming in the monster TGIF run that may give you nostalgic flashbacks just thinking about.  Be careful. Especially those of you driving home right now. I don't want you crashing.

Instead I want you jamming. Go ahead and turn the speakers up. This one's a banger and I'm glad to take it 26th overall.
