NFL Week 2 Round Up - AFC

Don't think Red Head Roger and the boys could have dreamt a better start to the season. These first two weeks have been amazing so far.

Road dogs winning outright. Some easily.

Defense being a major factor again. (Remember defense?)

And lot's of last drive finishes, including last night's thriller in Baltimore. We'll get to at the end.

Here's what happened in the AFC yesterday. NFL Week 2.

Los Angeles Rams at Indianapolis Colts +3.5
O/U 47.5

First off, great point.

But truck stop Matt Stafford and Cooper Kupp are quickly making it a debate

Week 1: 7 REC, 108 YDS, 1 TD

Week 2: 9 REC, 163 YDS, 2 TD

This will come as a shock, but Carson Wentz went down again.

But not before throwing one of the worst shovel passes in the history of shovel passes.

One of the highlights of this game was the battle in the trenches between Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald and All-Pro left guard Quenton Nelson of the Colts -

This one was much closer than it should have been. This Colts team is actually good, really well coached, and could be great if they figure out the QB situation.

FINAL-

Colts 24
Rams 27

Las Vegas Raiders at Pittsburgh Steelers -5.5
O/U 46.5

Derek Carr is growing on me.

Between this this week,

And this last week,

He's also balling out.

Carr last week: 34-56, 435 yards, 2 TD

Carr this week: 27-36, 357 yards, 2 TD

Before the game this post blew up. Rightfully so. But we've all been in this guys shoes. You're lying to yourself and the rest of us if you claim you haven't.

The biggest surprise so far in Vegas has been the Raiders defensive line. Scary to think what this unit looks like if they actually got Mack back.

(sidebar - sup)

Derek Carr went down, it was scary because it looked like the same ankle he gruesomely broke, but he shook it off and came back with a fury.

Najee Harris is a bad man

Don't look now but the Raiders are 2-0 with two big wins against the NFC North

FINAL-

Raiders 26
Steelers 17

Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins +3.5
O/U 48.5

Pregame. Bills Mafia in Miami. That is all.

Tua went down early in this one

And the wheels came off the Miami offense

The game was over before it started. Lot of 3 and outs and the Bills controlled the ball for what felt like the entire day.

Josh Allen got it back on track.

And was fired up

This one was a rout

FINAL-
Bills 35
Dolphins 0

New England Patriots at New York Jets +5.5
O/U 43

This one was a carbon copy Pats Jets game from the last 20 years.

Silver lining for Jets fans - The Jets ran for 152 yards yesterday and their defense held the Patriots to 25 points after Zach WIlson lobbed up 4 interceptions

But mad those picks were bad. The Jets stink is starting to rub off on this kid

Cue the Boomer "whoop"

The Mac Jones dick suck campaign marches on

Savage post-game presser

FINAL-

Patriots 25
Jets 6

Denver Broncos at Jacksonville Jaguars +6
O/U 45

Trevor Lawrence is learning quickly you can't just chuck it up there in this league

The Denver rushing attack is for real.

As is the love for Teddy Bridgewater.

Did John Elway finally find a QB?

Highlight for the Jags was this 102 yard kickoff return from specialist Jamal Agnew

I love/miss Vic

FINAL-
Broncos 23
Jaguars 13

Houston Texans at Cleveland Browns -13.5
O/U 49.5

This one started off with a bang. Cleveland PD tried to curb drinking in the Flats and at the Muni Lot. To no avail.

As Coley blogged yesterday, a pretty decent brawl broke out and made the rounds on twitter.

Once the game started, Houston was actually in it for a while.

Baker and the Browns gave everybody in the northern part of Ohio a heart attack.

But luckily he returned.

The Texans are playing chess this year.

The league has a serious problem with enforcing these taunting penalties. Fans are pretty much unanimously in favor of letting players talk shit, show emotion, and celebrate. To an extent. What we saw flagged yesterday was just ridiculous.

FINAL -

Browns 31
Texans 21

Kansas City Chiefs at Baltimore Ravens +3
O/U 53.5

A barn burner in Baltimore last night.

Everybody was killing the Ravens for losing to the Raiders last week. But turns out after watching the Raiders whip the Steelers earlier yesterday, Vegas might have a legit team this season.

Baltimore was insanely banged up coming into this one

Things didn't start off great for Lamar Jackson

But he settled

Kid finished with  -

18/26 Comp/Att
239 Pass Yards
107 Rush Yards
3 Total TD

Including this brass balls game call

Followed by this naked boot TD in the final minutes

Kid is really hard to not root for. Despite playing for John Harbaugh.

That squeezer Jackson Mahomes is becoming more and more hateble though.

Doing his little tik tok dances when the Chiefs were up

Then pulling this when they lost

That's it from the AFC this weekend.

NFC Coming next.
