Nick Sirianni Isn't Getting Nearly Enough Credit Around The League For Crushing This Dap Up With Jalen Hurts

The Philadelphia Eagles are 1-0. I'm trying my hardest not to get too carried away here. But for a team that most folks were talking about only being a 4-5 win team? Starting off week 1 in the dub column is huge. Especially after Jalen Hurts looked every bit of the leader of this franchise that he's supposed to be. Especially after DeVonta Smith's first NFL catch was for 6 in exact spot he caught that National Championship winning touchdown in '18.

Jordan Mailata looked great. The defense didn't give up any egregiously huge plays. The opponent may not have been great but it was still a really solid game nevertheless. But still, I wasn't going to let myself get too carried away with hopes and dreams of winning the division this year.

That is, of course, until I saw Nick Sirianni absolutely CRUSH this handshake with Jalen Hurts on the sidelines.

This might be the best highlight from around the league in week 1. I don't think people are fully realizing how huge this is for the Eagles' franchise.

Jalen Hurts is as cool and smooth as they come. Nick Sirianni? Well the biggest knock on him heading into the season is that he just seemed like a total goober. The kind of guy who says "cool beans" unironically. So for him to step up to the plate here and pull off this dap without completely embarrassing himself? Well that just proves that all the worries over Nick Sirianni being a massive dork were a figment of our imagination.

Don't get me wrong. It wasn't perfect. There was that little hiccup there right before the guitar strut. But to me it looked like he was giving the sign to go for 1 after the touchdown. So if anything, that's even more impressive that he was able to snap back into coaching mode and not even skip a beat on the rest of that handshake. Out of everything that happened yesterday, this might be the one that gives me the most hope for the future of this franchise. Our head coach might actually be cool, and that makes this team pretty damn dangerous.

P.S. - Need post-game player fan beers to become a tradition.
