No Stars, No Problem - USMNT Winning The World Cup Is Officially Back On

Now that's how you fucking play soccer. No Gio Reyna, no Sergino Dest, no Weston McKennie, Christian Pulisic got subbed off for being hurt and it didn't matter. We found a new golden boy and his name is Ricardo Pepi.

That's what truly was missing. We needed someone who could be a dominant striker and finish goals. Bingo. Suck it, Mexico. Listen, it wasn't great. Gregg put out a lineup that made no sense to start. It was a desperation lineup and somewhat conservative. Down 1-0 at half, couldn't really do shit offensively. Then he made three subs at halftime. I don't ever remember seeing that during this sort of game. Antonee Robinson comes on and scores our first goal. Sebastian Lleget comes on and finishes the scoring off. Brenden Aaronson comes on and starts flying around the field. It was perfect. Now?

We're in the spot we need. Top-3 automatically go to the World Cup and fourth place goes to a playoff. We got our road win at a place that is historically brutal to win at. 5 points was always the goal during this window. We needed points in all the matches with two on the road. Sure we shouldn't tie at home to Canada, but we still got 5. Next window is Jamaica, Panama and Costa Rica with two matches at home. 6 points in the next window and we're perfect. Just go ahead and put us back on World Cup champion watch.
