Brandon Phillips Still Plays Baseball And Is Still Giving Us A+ Bat Flips

Brandon Phillips may be one of the most underrated bat tossers of our era, that guy could toss some lumber when he hit homers. Never a shy guy at the plate, if he hit it far he'd let you know. You may have forgotten that Phillips is playing in the Atlantic League, I sure haven't. He's actually a co-owner of the Lexington Legends. Not only is he a co-owner, for a few months he was pulling the Roger Clemens card, he was only playing in home games. A move that you have to respect. He didn't have time to be bothered by riding a bus to Waldorf, MD or any of the other stadiums in the middle of nowhere. He just wanted to put on a show for the fans of Lexington, for their eyes only. Phillips only recently started going on the road with the teams and I bet the opposing fans are happy because they get a show when Phillips hits em out.

Lexington is up 18-12 in the 8th when Phillips steps up to the plate and demolishes a pitch for a grand slam. He knows it right away and starts the pimp job. Phillips starts marching like he's in a parade before flinging the bat to the side, I love everything about it. The fact that THE CO-OWNER OF THE TEAM is hitting grand slams to put his team up 10 and dancing around like he's Mickey in the parade at Disney World, how can you not love this? He doesn't waste any time once he connects, that ball isn't even deep enough to know it's gone before he starts 1-2 stepping in the box. Actually a laugh out loud celebration from Phillips, a guy who has never been shy about celebrating. It can't feel good when the opposing owner is doing this in your batters box, but thats just the Independent League, baby. I hope Phillips starts playing in more road games and he turns his celebrations up to 11.
