#RIPKeith - Wigan Dedicated A Win Yesterday To A Fan's Dead Pet Duck Because Everyone Thought 'Keith' Was Actually A Human

Classic Keith, man. Actually this is just classic soccer that's not the top level. Sure, we know the name Wigan but they aren't in the Premier League. They are now down in the third division in England and this is where we get weird shit like this. Meet the story of Keith. More importantly meet the story of #RIPKeith, just your classic mixup of a hardcore fan battling sickness and a dead pet duck.

A few days ago, a board regular mentioned the death of an unspecified “Keith”.

Keith Valentine — a well known figure among the hardcore fans in the group — had been battling lung cancer, so several fellow Latics jumped to the obvious unfortunate conclusion and sent messages of sorrow and condolence.

But the original post did not refer to Keith Valentine. It referred to another fan’s pet duck.

On one hand, if you're Keith Valentine you gotta feel good knowing that just seeing the name Keith people will associate it to you. You have the entire fanbase on a message board thinking of you and seeing people go nuts assuming you are the one who died. But on the other hand, this was all for a duck. So much so that Wigan dedicated the match yesterday to said Keith the duck.

The place went nuts for a duck. Apparently the applause went on for minutes. Wigan fans couldn't get enough of Keith the Duck and how can you blame them? Look at this good boy.

That's a good duck. Best part? Even the players got involved.

A 1-0 win for Keith the Duck and even Keith the human and actual fan is getting some positive stuff here.

Wish I knew about this before the match yesterday and would have responsibly put money on Wigan. You don't lose a dedication game for a pet duck.
