Trent Dilfer Absolutely REAMED One of His Players Out During a Game

If you've missed Trent Dilfer on the ESPN airwaves the last couple years, it's because he's entering his third season as head coach at Lipscomb Academy in Nashville. And if you're in Middle Tennessee and considering sending your kid there to play football, make sure they understand going in that Coach Dilfer puts up with absolutely ZERO bullshit.

Dilfer absolutely lit into this kid on Friday in Lipscomb's 62-7 win over Independence High School. Nobody talks shit to a Super Bowl champion like that and gets away with it — and you're damn sure not going to throw your helmet.

I'm sure there are a ton of people who are upset that Dilfer put his hands on the kid, but I'll say it: I'm glad we still have some adults left in this country willing to do that when a teenager is acting like an asshole. That may be an unpopular opinion, but back in my day, football was supposed to teach discipline.

And Dilfer is obviously doing something right, because Lipscomb Academy has won its first two games by a combined score of 138-14 and is ranked among the top teams in Tennessee regardless of classification. So he's got the right to teach a lesson however he sees fit, in my book.

It's just a shame we no longer have his analysis on Sundays. Maybe we'll get him back in the studio one day.
