Apple CEO Tim Cook Just Received A $750 MILLION Bonus For His 10 Year Anniversary At The Company

Source - Tim Cook, the boss of Apple, has been paid a bonus of more than $750m (£547m) after spending 10 years at the technology giant.

The chief executive of the world’s most valuable public company was awarded five million shares for presiding over a massive 191.83% rise in Apple’s share price in the last three years, according to a recent regulatory filing.

Mr Cook has sold almost all of those shares now for a quarter of a billion dollars, the filing said.

Good. Pay him. Losers are going to get mad about it, but I don't care. Tim Cook deserves every penny he makes and I'm not just saying that on the off chance that he reads this blog and asks me out on a date. I'm saying that because Apple's stock price has increased over 1200% on his watch. He was the driving force behind them not only becoming the most influential tech company on the planet, but the most valuable one now worth over $2.5 trillion. That's Trillion with a T. Think about how much more prevalent Apple has become in our lives over the last decade? Tim Cook did that. He's not an ideologue like Steve Jobs, but he's an undeniable, once in a generation businessman.

So what's he doing with all his money? Apparently giving it away...

In 2015, Mr Cook pledged to give away his entire fortune before he dies, joining the likes of Warren Buffet and Bill Gates who have made similar commitments.

Mr Cook told Fortune magazine that he would fund his nephew's education before donating his wealth to charity.

Two causes that are close to his heart are HIV/AIS prevention and treatment, as well as climate change, he said - telling the magazine he had already started to quietly donate.

What else would he do? He's a single gay billionaire. It's not like he's taking trips to Fire Island. Regardless, Tim Cook has had a fantastic week and I'm happy for him. Now here's his predecessor delivering arguably one the greatest commencement speeches of all time. Stay hungry, stay foolish. Have a great Friday.
