Things You Didn't Know About Pauly D

For this week's episode of Barstool Backstage, we sat down with the pride of Providence, Rhode Island, Paul DelVecchio Jr., aka Pauly D, aka DJ Pauly D.

It feels like we've all grown up with Pauly since Jersey Shore premiered in 2009. We've seen all the antics, heard all the catchphrases, and watched him continue to remain a household name, which is no easy feat.

What's even more impressive is managing to stay in the publics good graces for so long. Not only has he won most people over with his laid back attitude and humor, but he's turned many into full blown fanatics.

Take Jeff D. Lowe for example.

Having been in the spotlight for the past 12 years like he has, you would think we know everything there is to know about the guy.

But you'd be wrong.

Very wrong.

As I was when conducting this interview.

I've known Pauly since the high school days. He used to DJ at this club in Providence that anybody could get into (Providence was the wild west back in the day. The mob ran everything and gave zero fucks. If you had an ID, any ID, high school, college, an expired aunts or uncles or you knew people you could get in just about anywhere). This club was called "Hell" and we'd drive down and go when we were sick of The Palladium. Pauly would be DJing, there and other clubs around the city from a real early age. We get into it more in depth in the interview but, but seeing him come up from those days was pretty awesome.

But the real eye-opening part was learning just how many other jobs Pauly was working in addition to the late nights DJing. Kid was a workhorse.

In fact, as you'll learn by watching when it drops tomorrow, he still is.

He's got side gigs the world doesn't even know about. We'll tease it now by letting it slip that he just so happens to moonlight as a stuntman on the side.

Watch for Episode 4 featuring Pauly D tomorrow afternoon. Follow along with Barstool Backstage on the socials to stay up to date on everything we've got cooking-
