10 Movies and 3 Shows You Can Stream This Weekend
MOVIES:
1. The Game (NETFLIX): This is one of my favorite thrillers ever. It is a great story that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole runtime, and it has the beautiful Fincher shine to it.
2. Sweet Girl (NETFLIX): It's a shitty action thriller, but it's Jason Momoa kicking ass. there is a simplicity to that kind of comfort food.
3. Reminiscence (HBO MAX): This is a new sci fi movie starring Hugh Jackman that just came to streaming today.
4. The Suicide Squad (HBO MAX): The streaming window for this is going to close around the end of the month, so it's worth watching for those of you that still haven't.
5. Inception (HBO MAX): This is probably a good double feature with Reminiscence. They have some similar beats, but Inception is SEVERAL leagues above it.
6. Together Together (HULU): This is a new comedy starring Ed Helms, who you know, and Patti Harrison, who you may know from I Think You Should Leave. I really had fun with it, and it's a good level of quiet comedy in an era where we are STARVED of comedy movies.
7. Enemy at the Gates (HULU): I thought that I was one of the only people that was even aware of this movie, let alone a big fan of it. But I tweet about it the other day and saw that there was way more people who loved it than I thought! Great sniper scenes, solid war drama, and really good performances from Ed Harris Jude Law and more.
8. In Bruges (PRIME VIDEO): I talk about this movie a lot because it is earnestly one of my favorite movies ever. Absolutely perfect black comedy that everyone needs to see.
9: Jaws (PRIME VIDEO): You know what Jaws is and why you should watch it.
10. The Sandlot (DISNEY+): Summertime is coming to a close, so watch one of the best summertime movies ever made.
SHOWS:
1. Reservation Dogs (HULU): This is a new Taika Waititi show airing on FX and streaming on Hulu. I've been really digging it, and I think you guys will too.
2. I Think You Should Leave S2 (NETFLIX): Again, ITSYL has a permanent spot here until the end of the month. Also, I have a blog ranking all of the S2 skits for those of you interested.
3. What If…?(Disney+): I'm not a huge fan of the animation style, but I really like the storylines a lot.
