This was on the heels of the Sox already losing one massive part of their lineup in Eloy Jimenez for the majority of the season and truthfully, I wasn't sure they'd be able to hang tight with 3/3 starting outfielders hurt and Vaughn being a rookie learning an entirely new position. This was at a time that I thought the Twins would bounce back from their atrocious start and the Indians would still give teams fits with Bieber as their ace. I was wrong. I was VERY wrong. The White Sox not only treaded water, but they built up a 10+ game lead in the (very shitty) division. And this is all while Grandal and Madrigal went down too.
I mean, the dude hadn't even gotten hot yet and was hitting a casual .300 with a 128 wRC+
If that's what "hasn't gotten hot yet" Lu looks like, then imagine what he'll look like once he gets his timing down? And mind you he'll be hitting down in the order for now. There won't be an easy out in the ENTIRE lineup. This is pretty fucking filthy:

You can mix and match as you please, but the point is that there isn't a SINGLE soft spot in the lineup. The fucking 9 hitter has 20 bombs!!! 20!!!! And Moncada is hitting 7th in this lineup and getting on base at a .380 clip!!! And Vaughn is making a charge at ROY!!! Pair that lineup with Gio/Lynn/Los/Cease and the Kopech/Hendriks/Kimbrel 7-8-9 and you are FUCKED if you're an opposing team. Straight up FUCKED.
It's as simple as that.
This is the 2nd night in a row the White Sox will be playing on national TV. I love it, but at the same time I don't. I love that the whole country is going to see the White Sox on field product at almost full strength, and that said on field product is as good as I have been preaching it would be for years on end, but at the same time, fuck everyone else. We're the forgotten franchise and fanbase and nobody else should get to see the awesomeness that is this team until the playoffs.
In the end, I digress. It is what it is. Sunday night baseball, backed up with Monday night baseball the very next day, followed by the biggest game of the summer with the Field of Dreams game on Thursday - the whole country should be ending this week saying, "fuck, I wouldn't want to play THAT team in October."
That's what I predict happens tonight. Eloy did it big on National TV last night, I think Lu does it big tonight too. He's going to announce his presence with authority and the White Sox win HUGE with a good amount of the country watching on ESPN.
