Spencer Dinwiddie Negotiated A Monster Bonus If The Wizards Win The NBA Finals - A Whopping 1 US Dollar
Well, this is a new one. Granted people negotiate bonuses for winning titles and shit like that all the time, I've never seen $1. But that's Spencer Dinwiddie. He's an interesting and smart dude. Remember when he turned his contract into his own form of currency? I have no idea if it worked because I'm a moron with that stuff, but it's creative! Now I love that he negotiated a $1 bonus for the Wizards winning the Finals. Sure, we can make fun of it because it's the Wizards and there's roughly a 0% chance they win. I just want to see Dinwiddie's face, his agent's face and the Wizards when he negotiated this portion of the deal. Someone had to sit there and listen to the pitch for a $1 bonus if the Wizards win the Finals. If the Wizards make the Finals, let alone win it, Dinwiddie should be paid millions more than he is already getting. We're talking about the Wizards here.
I always love these random bonuses. Moe Harkless getting $500,000 if he shot 35% from three and then refusing to launch a three in the last game is still the best. Like yeah, what's it matter if the game doesn't matter for the playoffs? I'm not launching a three and costing myself a chance at $500,0000. Very easy to pass the ball or take an extra dribble to get inside the arc.
You know what? I'm sort of all in on the Wizards winning the title after this now. I just want to see Dinwiddie talk about his extra dollar. I'm sure he has some sort of elaborate plan on how to use it and he'll actually make an extra 100k or some shit. Me personally? Put it in the Barstool Sportsbook (it's legal in Virginia tomorrow!) and take the over on Kentucky football.
