Barstool Backstage Episode 3 Featuring Gryffin

For our third installment of Barstool Backstage we were lucky to land somebody that I consider one of the best people, and most talented musicians, I've ever met. Dan Griffith, aka "Gryffin". 

He was born in Palo Alto, and at a young age began playing the piano and eventually guitar. Both which he still plays (incredibly well) today- on his own tracks, and even live during his shows. 

Like pretty much every kid that played an instrument growing up, decided to form a rock band with his friends in high school. As an electrical engineering student at the University of Southern California, Griffith was introduced to the world of electronic music through up-and-coming EDM artists such as Skrillex and Deadmau5.

He taught himself how to use Ableton and began taking a stab at making his own music. 

He took a very interested detour, which we'll discuss more tomorrow, but things quickly took off for the natural talent. 

Gryffin's style can be described as deeply melodic. And catchy as hell. 

His songs have pop staying power, as evidenced by his 2018 release "Winnebago" featuring Quinn XCII and Daniel Wilson 

"Tie Me Down" featuring Elley Duhé

and his debut album, Gravity, a smash success, featuring singles such as 

"Remember" featuring Zohara

"All You Need To Know" featuring Slander featuring Calle Lehmann

and "Body Back" 

His newest releases, "Best Is Yet To Come" features Kyle Reynolds as well as Gryffin himself on guitar

and he JUST dropped

He's played all the major festivals and continues to evolve as an artist while staying true to being a really genuine, humble, and down to earth guy. All of which you'll see come across in our interview.

I couldn't be happier to see all his success and can't wait to see what else he accomplishes in the next few years.
