These Deshaun Watson To The Eagles Rumors Can't Stop, Won't Stop

WIP - The trade talks between the Eagles and the Houston Texans surrounding Deshaun Watson are “heating up” and “both sides (are) attempting to come to an agreement”, according to a report from Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports. The report is yet another in a long line of reports this summer linking the Eagles to Watson, who has been accused by 22 women of sexual assault. Watson did report to Texans training camp last week, and took the practice field for the first few practices, but has since stopped practicing. It is unclear whether he will be suspended by the NFL this season or placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt List, which would also prevent him from practicing or playing.

The never ending saga of the franchise QB superstar turned alleged predator coming to your Philadelphia Eagles continues. Key word, alleged. Meaning nothing has been proven and no punishments have been handed down either criminally or by the NFL. Still, that doesn't stop Howie from taking a dump on his conscience as franchise QB's are a rare commodity you sell souls over.

My stance goes as follows: With these despicable allegations, I don't wanna take a chance on Watson whether he gets jailed/suspended or not. If it looks like a rat and smells like a rat, something something TO and Jeff Garcia, you know the rest. Still tho, allegations aside, from a football standpoint, it's a damned if you do/damned if you don't scenario.

A normal football team in cap hell and in obvious rebuild mode wouldn't bring on one of the highest paid players in NFL history. Sure, Watson is arguably a top-5 QB in the league and is only 25-years-old, but what exactly do you do when he gets here? Hope he survives behind an oft-injured, aging OL by throwing to extremely unproven talent or straight up bums? This team isn't built to win NOW - so what's the point? Move that o/u from 6.5 wins to 8? It's gonna take a few PERFECT seasons of scouting, drafting, and signings to turn this shit around and we all know how that has the possibility of going. If they trade for Watson, the Eagles are going to have to give up probably 2-3 1st round picks they could use for the rebuild - at the minimum. But then again, Howie Roseman is so dickless at drafting, you'd want to throw those picks at a proven player rather see them go unfulfilled, anyways.

Do you really trust this administration to take on yet ANOTHER franchise QB just two short years after they signed one to a record extension and now all of a sudden is putting all their public faith in the 2nd round QB they for some reason drafted for the fuck of it? Exactly. I'm sticking with Hurts during the rebuild to see what he can do, but like I said: Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

We went all in on this on First Time, Long Time. We'll hang up and listen.
