Luka Doncic Doesn't Give A Damn That He Nearly Set A Record Scoring 48 Points In His First Ever Olympic Game

Christ almighty Luka. Somehow what he's doing with Slovenia is more impressive than what he's done with the Mavs. Hell, he's already won with Slovenia when him and Goran Dragic and Anthony Randolph (remember that name, college basketball fans?) won EuroBasket in 2017. Now he's showing up to the Olympics and dropping 48 against Argentina. So much so that he's got Argentina's coach talking a bit out of his ass.

Kinda crazy to make that statement when Giannis just won the NBA Finals and there's still a guy named Kevin Durant out there. Also love that he said 'best player in the world, including the NBA.' Hey pal, the best players in the world are in the NBA.

Speaking of the NBA, want to be depressed. Here's a Tommy stat for you:

And here's another Reags stat. Luka outscored Team USA's starters combined. 48-45 Luka vs our starters. Awesome! Great! Grand! Look at who he's doing this with too. Mike Tobey! Remember Mike Tobey from Virginia? Yeah, he's like the 2nd best player on this Slovenia team. Him or Goran Dragic's brother, Zoran. Maybe Vlatko Cancar, who is still floating around.  Not exactly a murderers row of names here. They only made the Olympics too because they went into Lithuania and beat them on their home court where Luka went nuts.

I believe him when he says he doesn't care about the record, but at the same time he's going to catch Oscar Schmidt from Brazil. It's out there now and he's just going to go off even more in one game. Yeah, he wants to win gold, he's been pretty vocal about that. I'm also still just pissed about Team USA. We better beat Iran by 30.
