Kevin Durant Has Once Again Logged Back Onto The Internet, This Time To Bury Scottie Pippen

Now that the Brooklyn Nets are watching the rest of the NBA playoffs from their couch just like the rest of us, Kevin Durant has all the time in the world. As we know he's already extremely online, so you better believe if you're going to talk shit about him on that platform chances are you're gonna hear from the guy. Honestly I love this part of KD. Let's just all remember that if his big toe was behind that line, none of this is even a conversation from Scottie Pippen. That's what is os confusing about his comments. He didn't "try and go punch for punch", he literally did. I could understand slandering Durant if he had a dogshit series against the Bucks, but he was incredible. If anything I'm of the belief that it actually helped his basketball legacy. To do what he did coming off an achilles injury makes no sense. Yeah he airballed that last three, he also played 53 MINUTES. If anything Pippen should appreciate that considering he did it twice in his career. Also, who exactly was Durant supposed to pass to? Joe Harris who couldn't hit a shot to save his life? A one legged James Harden? Jeff Green? Look I'm not crying for the Nets but let's not act like this was the Nets we all thought we were going to get when the playoffs started.

Here's the problem whenever Scottie Pippen wants to say shit like this to get back in the news cycle and remain relevant. None of us forgot about what he did. We all saw The Last Dance. It's a little sad that the narrative around one of the best players in NBA history really just comes down to getting carried by MJ and then refusing to go into a game because he was in his feelings or how he delayed his surgery so he wouldn't fuck up his summer. There's really no comeback for that. I mean the man said it himself!

I just don't really see the angle of trying to say Durant doesn't know "team basketball". He was the goddamn team. Now, it is fair to say that we haven't seen Durant lead a team to the Finals as "the guy" without having all time help. But....so did LeBron. Everyone has help that wins an NBA title. LeBron doesn't win that Cleveland title without Kyrie or the Miami titles without Wade/Bosh. Durant doesn't win his titles without Steph & Co. Kobe doesn't win without Shaq or Gasol. Duncan doesn't win 5 without Parker/Manu. Jordan probably doesn't win 6 without Pippen/Rodman etc. That's why that argument is so weird to me. Nobody does this shit by themselves while being surrounded by trash.

I could understand getting on Durant if he was a no show without his All Star teammates and the Nets got waxed. But the literal exact opposite happened. He elevated his game and carried that team to OT of a Game 7. I can't help but think of what KD tweeted after he had to hop onto Twitter to bury Jay Williams after he clearly lied on television

I dunno about you, but between what he did on the court and his love for getting in the mud on Twitter, Durant is becoming more and more likable by the day. Most of the time we never hear the other side respond to quotes like what Scottie Pippen gave, so I for one and glad that Durant will never pass up an opportunity to let his Twitter fingers fly. It's not like he has anything better to do at the moment.
