RG3 has done it all. Heisman winner, check. NFL rookie of the year, check. My best friend, check. And now he's going to be a top NFL analyst, while also possibly playing in the league:

AA - After three seasons as a backup quarterback with the Baltimore Ravens, Robert Griffin III could land with another team (or re-sign with the Ravens) for an eighth NFL season.

But if the former Heisman Trophy and NFL Rookie of the Year doesn’t continue his playing career, at least two networks are reportedly ready to welcome him into broadcasting. As first reported by Outkick, Griffin recently auditioned for both ESPN and Fox Sports, and both networks were impressed by his showing.

The New York Post‘s Andrew Marchand followed up with a report that network executives said Griffin’s audition was among the best they’d ever seen. As a result, ESPN and Fox are engaged in a bidding war for RGIII. According to Marchand, ESPN increased its offer to Griffin to overtake whatever interest Fox is showing.

A BIDDING WAR!!!! Let's fucking go Robert! All schtick aside, this is awesome for him. Obviously his NFL career didn't go exactly as planned after the knee injury in the 2012 season. He's stuck in the league as a backup, and apparently has been a great influence in the Ravens locker room. But if his playing career is in fact over, I'm thrilled that he will be able to easily transition into the studio. The report that he had one of the best auditions they've ever seen is awesome. We heard similar about Tony Romo.

Honestly, it's pretty cool that as natural he is at football, he's equally as natural talking about it on camera. A lot of guys who face career adversity like him end up lost, wondering what comes next. All he's done his entire life was be the best at football, and now he has the chance to parlay that into being a top analyst.

Wherever he ends up I will be a fan. Hopefully not ESPN though. Fuck ESPN. But still, happy for our guy regardless of who wins the bidding war.
