Stop Blaming Bad Luck Or Anything Else, Just Admit That Doc Rivers Is The Biggest Choke Artist In The NBA

We can talk about Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid and we will. But this is about Doc. We gotta stop making excuses for him. There's no bigger choke artist in the history of the NBA than Doc. Look at this record. At some point that's not bad luck. That's not just blaming players. That's a coach who can't get his team to close out a series. So much so that even Phil said this a decade ago.

'They know how to lose.' Put that shit on Doc's coaching tombstone. He's bailed out by having the one title with the Celtics, but that doesn't make up for the disaster that he is in the playoffs. And yeah, the Sixers are a mess. Embiid is soft. Simmons can't shoot .Tobias Harris disappears. Shit, the entire second half only Embiid and Seth Curry made a bucket. That's nearly impossible, but it's true. You'd think there'd be some sort of adjustment. Yeah, Simmons can't shoot but he's still too good to be 0-for-1 in the second half. Get his ass in the post and get him an ISO look there. Invert the offense once or twice. Don't blow a 26-point lead at home.

There are just coaches and players that panic in the playoffs. The Sixers have both right now. Doc hasn't made it to the conference finals since 2012. It's not like his teams have been bad or anything. They've won at least 48 games in 7 of the 9 seasons since. Such a shame to see Philly completely choke this away. Such a shame.
