Good Luck Convincing Me The US Men's Soccer Team Didn't Turn Into A World Power Thanks To This Golden Generation

Short answer: fuck yeah we did. I know most people will turn their nose at the question or even the fact it was just a 4-0 win over Costa Rica. But it was a 4-0 win just days after beating Mexico. It was a 4-0 win without McKennie, Pulisic, Reyna and Dest in the starting XI. No big deal. We're just in the beginning of the greatest generation of US soccer. Guys like Brendan Aaronson, Daryl Dike and Tim Weah. These guys would be fucking stars on basically any other USMNT, but now? They are perfect role players although I do think Dike will be a star. Hell that's before we even mention the name Yunus Musah. My point being, we're here. Quick check on the match last night:

That's video evidence of us doing what we need to do - kick these counties asses. Show no mercy against Costa Rica and all these other CONCACAF bums. And what feels like the first time in our lives, you don't need to get high and accidentally play Fifa for 8 hours straight to learn people's names. We can rattle off everyone building this US dominance. That's right, I said dominance. This isn't 'oh hey Tim Howard is our guy in Europe' and then hoping someone else goes over on loan. Nope. This is Pulisic playing for Chelsea. This is McKennie playing for Juventus. This is Dest playing for Barcelona. Reyna for Dortmund. Weah for Lille. This is guys playing for top teams across the world. This isn't just an MLS All Star team hoping to get out of the group stage.

And I know people will make fun of US soccer. It's what people want to do who don't pay attention. Everyone who loves to shit on soccer and the USMNT especially will keep making the joke 'oh it's the next big thing in America.' Well fuckers, it is. It's here. Soccer is an all-time high from viewership, fandom and now talent.

So yeah I'm riding high. I don't care. The USMNT competing for a World Cup is going to be fucking awesome. It's going to be awesome in 2022 and even better when we host the event in 2026. Think about all the times at the bars and watch parties when we're fighting to beat Ghana and shit. No more Tim Howard having to make 16 saves against Belgium. We're going to score a zillion goals and win two World Cups. Get on the bandwagon now.
