The Milwaukee Bucks Are Not Fucking Around This Year

Heading into Round 1 in the Eastern Conference, I think we were all excited for the MIL/MIA matchup. With last year's upset, how much the Heat and their fans talk, the Bucks big Jrue Holiday move, it was easily one of the more intriguing series for me. Well, through two games we might be getting close to a wrap folks. In NBA history, a total of 426 playoff series have been 2-0 at one point. Of those 426, the team down 0-2 won the series just 27 times. That's 6.3%. So technically the Heat do have a chance, but it ain't a great one. Game 1 was awesome, the Heat nearly pulled off the upset and it gave us some legit hope that this would be another awesome series. But it's almost like that Khris Middleton game winner was more than just a tagger to win Game 1. It may have just been a sign of things to come.

Game 2 was over in about 3 minutes. No joke. The Bucks came out and bukkake'd the Heat with threes like you read about

Remember in Game 1 when the Bucks won despite missing a billion threes? Well last night it was 22-8 3PM. A bloodbath of epic proportions. Jrue Holiday, the main difference for the Bucks from last year, had 11/7/15 and was a team best +37. Remember this scout's take??

Bryn Forbes got them started, then Giannis took care of the rest

and it's very clear that the Bucks are not fucking around this year. Their defensive scheme shift of switching everything is clearly working, offensively they are the same devastating wrecking ball they've been these past few years, and now they are playing with a vengeance that only comes from underachieving the year before. For whatever reason when talking about the contenders in the East, it felt like people ignored the Bucks. Maybe it was Bucks fatigue or something. Heading into this series there was definitely this narrative that the Heat were going to pull it out again. Meanwhile….

Bam Adebayo hasn't been much better, putting up 12.5/7.5/4.5 on 34% shooting. Tyler Herro, the most untouchable player in NBA history

Is currently averaging 7/2.5/2.0 on 20/42% shooting in 18 minutes a game off the bench. Someone needs to help Duncan Robinson (17/3/1.5 on 47/47%) because make no mistake, the Heat stars have been completely neutralized this series. Which makes me wonder something. If other star players like James Harden or Paul George or pick anyone you want was having the type of series Jimmy Butler was having, they would be getting CRUCIFIED. Yet somehow, Butler seems to be getting mostly a pass. Why is that? Yes, he was incredible in the bubble and deserved all the praise that came with it. But this is a new season, a new playoffs, a new series, and he's getting his ass straight up kicked. When you say stuff like this

you then cannot throw up a series like Jimmy is having. It reminds me so much of when Kyrie said in 2019 that we as Celts fans didn't need to worry about the up and downs of the regular season because they had him for the playoffs. He then promptly quit against the Bucks and they lost in 5.

Now, Game 3 in Miami is about as must win as you can get. The Heat have to take both at home, I think that's fairly obvious. The last bit of hope they have is the saying that a series doesn't start until someone loses at home. That might be true, but things are not looking great. The Bucks went all year testing things, quietly going about their business to prepare them for the postseason. Through two games it looks like that's paying off and if you weren't taking them seriously before, maybe now is a good time to start.
