BREAKING: Guy Fieri Signs 3 Year/$80 Million Extension With The Food Network

OUR ONE TRUE KING! 

First off I'm so sad someone like Schefty, Rapaport, or even a Barstool account since Guy's a friend of the program didn't break that news like it's a football contract. ANYWAYS ...that is a lot of money. That's Dellavedova money! The only difference between Guy & Dellavedova though is that guy is pretty much the Michael Jordan of the Food Network. That's nearly $30 a year for Diners, Drive-In's, and Dives & Guy's Grocery Games which in the long run sounds like an absolute steal because this Guy empire is only growing. You can't stop the frosted tips...you can only hope to contain them. 

Take me for example- I'm a person with a strict TV schedule about what I watch right before I fall asleep. Back in the day it was always Friends but now the theme song annoys me too much in the middle of the night so I had to pivot to something else. Now when I get in bed right before Midnight usually I throw on one (1) episode of Sopranos before getting into an episode of Guy's Grocery Games AND THEN if I don't fall asleep to Guy's Grocery Games it's DDD time until I knock the fuck out & it works like a charm. My point is that I'm one of the people that bought Discovery + SOLELY for the Guy shows and I'm sure there's a hell of a lot more people like myself that just thrive in Flavortown...

So is that $80 million worth it for Food Network? I'm gonna go with FUCK YES! Not to mention what pleasant news this is that we're guaranteed another 3 years of DDD & GGG. That's a real burden off my shoulders to think about because not only is it great sleeping television, it's just the greatest background television you can throw on. You know how many times I've started pregaming a night at 6:30pm before a game starts at 7pm and I throw on DDD to get me through that half hour? Too many fucking times.

Here's to 3 more prosperous years of rollin' out lookin for America's greatest Diners, Drive-in's, and Dives!
