Yankee Stadium Refusing To Open It Up While MSG Goes To 75% Capacity is Fucking Nonsense

I went to the Yankees game on Saturday to watch Gerrit Cole shove against the Chicago White Sox. Had a great time during a nice little 7-0 victory as I hung out with the good people in the bleachers. On Friday the team increased their capacity from 20% to 33% in light of covid restrictions being lifted in New York. Increased capacity is good, but if I can be frank it's not enough. Not even close.

Saturday's attendance for an outdoor Yankee Stadium that normally holds over 50,000 fans was only 14,665. Last night at MSG they packed the Garden with 15,000 maniacs and it was AWESOME.

There were more people at an indoor basketball arena than a gigantic baseball stadium in New York this weekend. Find me the logic there please. Look at this shit.

Now yes, the way MSG was able to go to 75% last night was having 90% of the fans vaccinated. I believe there was one single section with unvaccinated people. Makes perfect sense to me, but why is Yankee Stadium so limited with their fully vaxxed sections? Open that shit up this is horseshit.

When I first heard that Yankee Stadium was going to roll out these 100% capacity sections for fully vaxxed fans I figured it would be at minimum every 3 sections or so. Not this bullshit. What the fuck is this? It's nonsense is what it is. The fact that MSG had more fans last night than Yankee Stadium this weekend is asinine. Fenway is a week away from going to 100% capacity, as are a lot of other stadiums across the country. There's no reason Yankee Stadium can't get to 75% or at least something like 50% with the size of the place. Just really stupid.

Man the Garden was so much fun to listen to last night. Just hear to the roar and ignore the fact that Trae Young won the game late and ripped my heart out.
