Jake Paul Has Officially Left Triller And Signed A Multi-Year Deal With Showtime Boxing

Source - Jake Paul is following in the footsteps of boxing legends like Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao ... he just signed a multi-fight deal with Showtime Sports.

Both Jake and the network have confirmed the deal -- which also means Paul's run with Triller is over for now. No word on how much money Paul will pocket from his new contract with Showtime -- or when he's expected to get in the ring.

But, ESPN's Marc Raimondi reports the two sides are in "advanced talks" about locking in Paul's next opponent -- as well as a date and location. Also, no word on how much cash Paul will make from the contract.

I can't even tell you how much I love this. Jake signing with Showtime Boxing means that not only that is he going to be taken seriously as a boxer (which is what he wants), but he's going to have to fight real fighters. No more YouTubers, no more athletes, no more nobodies - boxers. Guys who have trained their entire lives to master the sweet science. Guys who are hungry. Guys who are motivated. Guys who, unlike Jake, have spent years training in the hopes of one day eventually landing a big fight. We don't know who those guys are yet, but we know that Showtime has a stable of boxers all of whom will be willing to take a crack a Jake Paul for a payday. Personally, I can't wait to see how it all plays out in the ring.

Here's what Triller had to say about the situation…

Triller honcho Ryan Kavanaugh told The Athletic's Mike Coppinger there were NO plans for Paul to headline a card moving forward and the April event was simply a novelty.

"Paul being anything other than an undercard for us would change it from novelty to unacceptable,” Kavanaugh told Coppinger. He also commented on Showtime signing Paul -- "Imitation is the ultimate form of flattery."

^^I'm not sure what any of that means but I'm pretty that's them refusing to admit that letting Paul go was a mistake. To be honest they probably couldn't afford to keep him. Say what you want but he's a draw. Oh well. Jake seems to be pumped about the decision and I am too.
