Ronald Acuña Jr. Is the Coolest Motherfucker in Sports Right Now

With the Braves on the verge of falling five games behind the Mets in the NL East on Wednesday night, Ronald Acuña Jr. stepped to the plate in the bottom of the 9th inning and promptly reminded everyone why he's the best player in baseball when he launched his first career walk-off home run. And then immediately after depositing the ball over the fence, he reminded everyone why he's the coolest player not just in baseball, but in all of professional sports right now.

I know I'm biased, but I truly can't think of another athlete right now that I would consider as objectively cool as Acuña. The two i guys that came to my mind as being closes are probably two more baseball players in Fernando Tatis Jr. and Juan Soto. And we'll be debating the best among the three of those guys for the next decade, but in terms of pure swag, Ronald is alone at the top.

Even before watching how slick he is on the field, just look at the guy's uniform. He decided yellow was one of the Braves' colors because he wanted it to be. Also, see that metallic red belt? The Braves' belts are blue. But not Ronnie's, because that isn't badass enough. He does what he wants.

And then he obviously goes out onto the field and smacks home runs and does Vince Carter impressions down the first base line because, of course, he is the coolest athlete currently on the planet.

It's impossible to watch Acuña play and not have a great time. I'd be willing to bet even the staunchest of baseball haters would crack a smile if you put on Ronnie's highlight tape. Every time we get another moment like this from Acuña, I am filled with joy knowing he'll be doing this for the next 15 years.

It's incredibly fun watching a player who's the best and knows it.
