Bullying Always Works: Columbus Crew Tried To Change Their Name, Fans Got All Riled Up Because It Sucked, Team Changes Its Name Back
Listen, consider me pro-bullying now. It works. Mostly it works when someone does something stupid and there's an uproar to change that decision back. That's what happened here. On May 10, the Crew, err Columbus SC, decided to change its entire name, logo, crest, etc to this dogshit:
And immediately people hated it. Rightfully so. That thing sucks. You have an original MLS team name, colors and shit they won the MLS Cup a year ago. You can't change names if you're the reigning champs. That should just be a sports-wide rule. I actually miss the original MLS names and jerseys. They were awesome:
Tampa Bay Mutiny, New York/New Jersey Metrostars, DC United, Columbus Crew, San Jose Clash, Dallas Burn, Kansas City Wiz, Columbus Crew and LA Galaxy. It was awesome seeing soccer being, you know, fun. Not just 'United' or 'FC' or 'SC' everywhere. It's the MLS, it didn't need to be the Premier League or anything over in Europe. Also, if anyone has connections to old school MLS jerseys, slide into my DMs. I love them.

The best part of this all? It's the second time the fans have saved the Crew. Columbus was actually going to move to Austin, before that got squashed. Now they try to change the name and bam, Crew stays. You simply can't kill the Crew no matter how hard you try. It's impossible. Their fans won't let you.
So just remember, if a team tries to do something you don't like just bully them. It works. Now it's time to get back to hating Columbus. Hell is Real assholes, go FC Cincinnati.
