Kevin Garnett Said He Regrets Not Coming To Boston Sooner And I Couldn't Agree More

I think any Celtics fan will tell you, we all need a distraction right now. Things have been rough enough these last few months. Well, there's a few things that usually do the trick for me. The first is playing 2K until my eyes bleed. The second is watching old 2008 clips and memories from the good old days. And today I learned the third is hearing former Celtics talk about Boston during their Hall Of Fame press conferences.

You may have forgot, but we have a big time HOF induction ceremony this weekend with Kobe, KG, and Tim Duncan all heading into the Hall in the same class. Titans of the game. The NBA is not the NBA we see today without them. So with the players doing their press today, I obviously couldn't help myself and watched KGs. There's just something about watching a player on your favorite team talk at the HOF. I look forward to this very same feeling next year when Pierce goes up. That will be way more emotional given the time he was in Boston and what he did for that franchise, but KG's certainly was close. Especially this part

Me too Kevin. I also wish you would have found your way to Boston a little earlier. Just had to be loyal as shit to the Timberwolves. Think of what could have been. I know I am. I don't even need the true Prime KG either. A 29 year old KG would have worked just fine. Granted that probably would have messed up the pick they used to get Ray, but you figure it out. Do you know what I would give to have 2008 era KG on this current Celtics team? Easily everything I own outside of my two Saint Bernards. He's exactly what they need not only from a skillset perspective but an overall attitude and toughness perspective. Oh well.

I'll never forget the day I saw that trade come across my screen. To this day I've never seen a more accurate commercial

You'll also never convince me that if KG doesn't get hurt in 2009 that the Celts don't go back to back. Shit, I won't even call you crazy if you say they 3 peat if Perk doesn't tear his ACL in Game 7.

And while we're on the subject of KG, you can bet your ass I'm very excited for this to drop at the end of July

I've blogged time and time again what a sucker I am for a good basketball documentary, and now you're giving me one with one of my all time favorite players? Hell yes.

I can't wait to see the actual induction ceremony not just for KG, but for everyone. MJ's speech for Kobe is going to be must watch stuff. Add in some quality basketball that's on deck and we're about to have ourselves a nice little weekend.
